Declaration:

… in accordance with paragraph 5 of Article 30 of the Minamata Convention on Mercury, the Czech Republic declares that any amendment to an annex to the Convention shall enter into force for the Czech Republic only upon the deposit of its instrument of ratification, acceptance, approval or accession in respect thereto.

Pursuant to Article 12 (1) of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on a Communication Procedure, the Czech Republic declares that it recognizes the competence of the Committee on the Rights of the Child to receive and consider communications according to this article.

Interpretative declaration:

“The Czech Republic makes the following interpretative declaration to the Convention:
The Czech Republic welcomes international cooperation in the field of tobacco control aimed at strengthening public health protection.
The Czech Republic declares that it does not consider guidelines adopted by the Conference of the Parties as instruments directly establishing legal obligations under the Convention.
The Czech Republic declares that it will not support any future proposals amending the Convention or relating to its Protocols which would be in contradiction with the constitutional principles of the Czech Republic as well as commitments arising from its membership in the European Union and from international agreements on free trade to which the Czech Republic has acceded.
The Czech Republic also declares that it considers Article 5 (3) a provision not affecting the right to non-discriminatory treatment of the tobacco industry by the Parties and thus permitting the necessary extent of cooperation with the tobacco industry as regards tobacco control.”

Declaration:

“In accordance with Article 23 (a) and (b) of the Agreement on the Privileges and Immunities of the International Criminal Court the Czech Republic declares that citizens of the Czech Republic or persons with permanent residence in the territory of the Czech Republic enjoy, in the territory of the Czech Republic, the privileges and immunities to the exten[t] as laid down in Article 23.”

Declaration:

Adopting this Protocol we declare in accordance with article 3 paragraph 2 of the Protocol that the minimum age at which voluntary recruitment into its national armed forces is permitted is 18 years. This age limit is prescribed by law.

Declaration:

"It is the understanding of the Government of the Czech Republic that the mere participation in the planning or execution of operations, exercises or other military activities by the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic, or individual Czech Republic nationals, conducted in combination with the armed forces of States not party to the [Convention], which engage in activities prohibited under the Convention, is not, by itself, assistance, encouragement or inducement for the purposes of Article 1, paragraph 1 (c) of the Convention."

Declarations:

“As a Member State of the European Community the Czech Republic has transferred its competence for certain matters governed by the Agreement to the European Community. These matters are mentioned in the Declaration of 19 December 2003 made by the European Community upon ratification of the Agreement.
The Czech Republic confirms the interpretative declarations of 19 December 2003 made by the European Community upon ratification of the Agreement.”

Declaration :

"[The Government of the Czech Republic] declares that it shall use the 1990 levels as the basis for its reduction of annual emissions of VOCs pursuant to article 2, paragraph 2( a ) of the Protocol."

Pursuant to Article 7, paragraph 2 and 3, of the Vienna Convention on Succession of States in respect of Treaties, adopted in Vienna on August 23, 1978, the Czech Republic declares that it will apply the provisions of the Convention in respect of its own succession of States which has occurred before the entry into force of the Convention in relation to any other Contracting State of State Party to the Convention accepting the declaration.
The Czech Republic simultaneously declares its acceptance or the declaration made by the Slovak Republic at the time of its ratification of the Convention pursuant to Article 7, paragraph 2 and 3 thereof.

"The Czech Republic declares that limits of carrier's liability in the territory of the Czech Republic adhere to the provision of article 6 of the Convention."

Reservation:
Upon acceding to the Agreement the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic declares, in accordance with its article 21, that it does not consider itself bound by the provisions of article 20, paragraphs 2 and 3, of the Agreement.
Declaration:
The Government of Czechoslovakia considers article 19 of the Agreement to be in contradiction to the generally recognized right of nations to self-determination.

Declarations:

" ...Acceding to the Convention we declare the following:
1. Pursuant to Article 27 of the Convention, identity papers shall be issued only to stateless persons having permanent residence permits in the territory of the Czech Republic in accordance with the country's national legislation.
2. Article 23 of the Convention shall be applied to the extent provided by the national legislation of the Czech Republic.
3. Article 24, paragraph 1(b) shall be applied to the extent provided by the national legislation of the Czech Republic.
4. Pursuant to Article 28 of the Convention, travel documents shall be issued to stateless persons having permanent residence permits in the territory of the Czech Republic in accordance with the country's national legislation. Such persons shall be issued "aliens' passports" stating that their holders are stateless persons under the Convention of 28th September 1954."
