PURPOSE: To provide a necessary reservoir of sector information and permit rapid access to technical, financial and socio-economic data enabling a more orderly and effective planning of sector activities. 3. SCOPE: a) Establish an information center at the central Government level for both urban and rural areas, which center will be integrated and coordinated with regional offices, State Governments and local municipalities; b) Determine and standardize to the extent possible the kind and type of informatioii required, the method and frequency of collection and dissemination; and c) Prepare an information system programmed for computers, designed to achieve the objectives stated in (2), and recommending the equipment required to execute the programme. 4. TIMING: (a) Duration and Phasing of Study (b) Desired Starting Date 3 years Govt.prep.Activities: September1975 UNDP/WHO Project: January 1977 6. 44ENT ON POTENTIAL STUDY SPONSORS: A UNDP/WHO project, Organization of Preventive Maintenance Services in Water Supply and Sewerage Systems, is now under consideration by the Government with the collaboration of PAHO/WHO.
