See " Note: " at beginning of chapter XII.1. The amendments were adopted by the Assembly of the Organization by resolution A.315 (ES.V) of 17 October 1974. Pursuant to article 54 of the Convention, the acceptance of an amendment shall be made by the communication of an instrument to the Secretary-General of the Organization for deposit with the Secretary-General of the United Nations. Following is the list of States which had accepted the Amendments to the Convention prior to their entry into force. In accordance with article 52 of the Convention, the Assembly of the International Maritime Consultative Organization determined that these amendments were of such a nature that any Member which hereafter declares that it did not accept such amendments and within a period of twelve months after they had come into force would, upon the expiration of this period, cease to be a Party to the Convention. *See chapter XII.1 for the complete list of Participants, Members of the International Maritime Organization, for which the above amendments are in force, pursuant to article 71 of the Convention as amended.
