Page 1 CONFORMED COPY CREDIT NUMBER 3149 IN Development Credit Agreement (Maharashtra Health Systems Development Project) between INDIA and INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION Dated January 14, 1999 CREDIT NUMBER 3149 IN DEVELOPMENT CREDIT AGREEMENT AGREEMENT, dated January 14, 1999, between INDIA, acting by its President (the Borrower) and INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (the Association). WHEREAS (A) the Association has received a letter dated October 17, 1998 from the State of Maharashtra, describing a program of objectives, policies and actions to improve the primary and secondary levels of health care (the Maharashtra Health Sector Development Program) and declaring its commitment to carry out such Program; (B) the Borrower, having satisfied itself as to the feasibility and priority of the project described in Schedule 2 to this Agreement (the Project), has requested the Association to assist in the financing of the Project; (C) the Project will be carried out by the State of Maharashtra with the Borrower
