Page 1 CONFORMED COPY CREDIT NUMBER 3106 IN LOAN NUMBER 4365 IN Uttaranchal Project Agreement (Diversified Agricultural Support Project) among INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION and INTERNATIONAL BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT and STATE OF UTTARANCHAL Dated December 11, 2001 CREDIT NUMBER 3106 IN LOAN NUMBER 4365 IN UTTARANCHAL PROJECT AGREEMENT Page 2 AGREEMENT, dated December 11, 2001, among INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (the Association) and INTERNATIONAL BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT (the Bank) and STATE OF UTTARANCHAL (Uttaranchal). WHEREAS (A) by the Development Credit Agreement dated July 30, 1998, as amended to date, between India (the Borrower) and the Association, the Association agreed to make available to the Borrower an amount in various currencies equivalent to thirty-seven million two hundred thousand Special Drawing Rights (SDR 37,200,000), on the terms and conditions set forth in the Development Credit Agreement, but only on condition that Uttaranchal and the State of Uttar Pradesh (Uttar Pradesh) agree to undertake such obligations toward the Association as are set forth in the Development Credit Agreement, the Project Agreement and in this Agreement; (B) by the Loan Agreement dated July 30, 1998, as amended to date, between the Borrower and the Bank, the Bank has agreed to make available to the Borrower an amount in various currencies equivalent to seventy-nine million nine hundred thousand dollars ($79,900,000), on the terms and conditions set forth in the Loan Agreement, but only on condition that Uttaranchal and Uttar Pradesh agree to undertake such obligations toward the Bank as are set forth in the Loan Agreement, the Project Agreement and this Agreement; (C) the Project will be carried out by Uttaranchal and Uttar Pradesh with the Borrower
