Page 1 CONFORMED COPY LOAN NUMBER 4365 IN Agreement Amending Loan Agreement (Diversified Agricultural Support Project) between INDIA and INTERNATIONAL BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT Dated December 11, 2001 LOAN NUMBER 4365 IN (Amendment) AGREEMENT AMENDING LOAN AGREEMENT AGREEMENT dated December 11, 2001, between INDIA, acting by its President (the Borrower) and INTERNATIONAL BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT (the Bank). Page 2 WHEREAS (A) by the Loan Agreement dated July 30, 1998, as amended to date, (the Loan Agreement) between the Borrower and the Bank, the Bank has agreed to make available to the Borrower an amount equal to seventy-nine million nine hundred thousand dollars ($79,900,000) (the Loan); (B) the Borrower has also requested the International Development Association (the Association) to provide additional financial assistance toward the financing of the Project and by the Development Credit Agreement dated July 30, 1998, as amended to date (the Development Credit Agreement) between the Borrower and the Association, the Association has agreed to provide such assistance in an aggregate principal amount equivalent to thirty-seven million two hundred thousand Special Drawing Rights (SDR 37,200,000) (the Credit); (C) by the Project Agreement (the Project Agreement) dated July 30, 1998, among the Association, the Bank and the State of Uttar Pradesh (Uttar Pradesh), Uttar Pradesh agreed to undertake certain obligations with respect to the carrying out of the Project; (D) the Borrower has advised the Bank through Gazette Notice No. 37 dated August 25, 2000, of the enactment of the Uttar Pradesh Reorganization Act, creating the new State of Uttaranchal (Uttaranchal), formerly a part of Uttar Pradesh; and (E) the Borrower has requested the Bank to amend the Loan Agreement to take into account the creation of Uttaranchal, and its obligation to carry out part of the Project. NOW THEREFORE the parties hereto hereby agree to amend the Loan Agreement as follows: PREAMBLE (i) Paragraph E is amended to read as follows:
