Announcement of Singapore Joins Bank and Fund on August 3, 1966

• Joint Press Re lease INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND and INTERNATIONAL BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PRESS ~or Release 5 pm Washington time SUBJECT: Singapore joi.ns Bank August 3, 1966 and Fund Singapore today became a member of the International Monetary Fund and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank) when the Articles of Agreement of these institutions were signed in • Washington, D.C., on behalf of the Government of Singapore by Mr. Goh Koh Pui, \ Chairman and Geue.ral Manager of the Portiof Singapore Authority. Singapore's quota in the Fund is $30,000,000 and its subscription to the capital stock of the International Bank is 320 shares with a total par value Of $32,000,000. Membership of both the Bank and the Fund now totals 104 nations. Admission of Singapore brings the total of members' _quotas in the Fund to $20,307,570,000 and the total of subscribed capital of the Bank to $22,465,100,000 • •
