Washington, D.C. 20433 United States of America Credit No. 2598-TA (Second Integrated Roads Project) Part B.1 of Schedule 2 to the Development Credit Agreement Implementation Program for Trunk Roads and Bridges Dear Sirs: We refer to the above-mentioned Part of Schedule 2 to the Development Credit Agreement, of even date herewith, between the United Republic of Tanzania (the Borrower) and the International Development Association (the Association) relating to the rehabilitation, upgrading and backlog maintenance program for trunk roads and bridges. We wish to confirm that, subject to changes agreed with the Association, we will implement the trunk road and bridges investments in accordance with the implementation schedules in Attachment 1 to this letter. In particular, we shall ensure that the recruitment of design and supervision consultants and the completion of the physical works is carried out expeditiously in accordance with the above-mentioned schedules. We also confirm that the progress of the physical works for both trunk and rural road networks will be monitored in accordance with the monitoring indicators shown in Attachment 2 to this letter. It is our understanding that, in making the above-mentioned Credit, the Association may rely on the statements set forth or referred to herein.
