Woods, President of the World Bank, announced today (December 14, 1965) that Mr. J. Burke Knapp, Vice President of the Bank, is extending his present tour of African countries to visit Rhodesia and Zambia where he will review with the Central African Power Corporation and other authorities concerned the present situation in regard to the installations and operations of the Power Corporation based on the Kariba Dam. The World Bank has made two loans totaling $87.7 million • to the Central African Power Corporation. Both loans are guaranteed by the United Kingdom. Rhodesia and Zambia have each also guaranteed one-half of the payments in connection with these loans • •
