Box 8147 Kampala, Uganda Re: Credit No. 2124-UG (Second Water Supply Project) Amendment Dear Mr. Minister: I refer to the Development Credit Agreement for the above- referenced Project, dated April 24, 1990 between the Republic of Uganda (the Borrower) and the International Development Association (the Association). I also refer to the letter of Mr. J. Kahoza, Secretary to the Treasury dated October 29, 1991 informing us of the Borrower's decision to establish a project coordination unit to be referred to as the Project Implementation Unit under the Ministry of Water, Energy, Minerals and Environment Protection. Having reviewed and accepted the Borrower's request, we propose to amend the Development Credit Agreement as follows: 1. Paragraphs (d) and (f) of Section 1.02 to be deleted and replaced by the following "PIU" means the Project Implementation Unit to be established within WEMEP; (f) "WEMEP" means the Borrower's Ministry of Water, Energy, Minerals & Environment Protection. 2. Section 3.06 to be deleted and replaced by the following: "Section 3.06. The Borrower shall maintain the Project Implementation Unit under WEMEP with duly qualified and experienced staff including a coordinator, as head of the unit, at least one water engineer, an accountant and appropriate support staff." 3. The term IIPCU" in Paragraph 1 (4) of Schedule 1, and in Part B of Schedule 2 to the Development Credit Agreement to be deleted and replaced by the term "PIU."
