Page 1 June 9, 1989 His Excellency Komla Alipui Minister of Economy and Finance Ministry of Economy and Finance Lome Republic of Togo Re: Credit No. 1929 TO (Cotton Sector Development Project) Amendment to the Development Credit Agreement Excellency: Please refer to the above-mentioned Development Credit Agreement between the Republic of Togo (the Borrower) and the International Development Association (the Association), dated February 13, 1989. Pursuant to a letter, dated May 15, 1989, from Mr. Koffi Djondo, Minister of Industry and State Enterprises, and subsequent discussions between the representatives of the Borrower and the representatives of the Association during the supervision mission of May 29 to June 2, 1989, we are pleased to inform you that the Development Credit Agreement between us is hereby amended as follows: 1. Section 4.01 is modified by adding a new paragraph (g) reading as follows: "(g) The Borrower and SOTOCO shall have failed to revise SOTOCO's statutes in a manner satisfactory to the Association by June 30, 1990." 2. Section 5.01 (a) is modified to read as follows: "(a) the Borrower has taken measures satisfactory to the Association for setting up a mechanism for determining cotton producer prices." Please indicate your agreement with this amendment by signing and dating the enclosed duplicate original of this letter in the space provided therefor and returning it to us. This amendment is effective as of the date of this letter.
