We refer to the Development Credit Agreement (Shandong Agricultural Development Project) between the People's Republic of China (the Borrower) and the International Development Association (the Association), dated September 14, 1989 (the Development Credit Agreement). We also refer to the request from the Ministry of Finance, dated January 28, 1993, to revise Schedule l to the Development Credit Agreement by: (a) reallocating SDR 605,000 from Category (3) to Category (l); (b) increasing the percentage of expenditures to be financed for civil works under Category (l) from 30% to 45%; and (c) including training to be financed under Category (3). 2. We are pleased to concur with these requests. Consequently, the Association hereby agrees to amend the table set out in paragraph l of Schedule l to the Development Credit Agreement to read as set forth in the attachment to this letter. 3. Please confirm the agreement on behalf of the Borrower to the amendment in paragraph 2 above by signing and dating the enclosed confirmation copy of this letter and return it to us for our files.
