Symptoms are reflected in: differing rates of regional development; disparities in the prices of essential food commodities across regions; and declining competitiveness of domestic products in export and home markets. Improving domestic connectivity requires not only investment in physical infrastructure but also investment in services that link across the supply chain (intra-island, inter-island, international).
