REPORT OF THE REGIONAL COMMITTEE 33 WPRlRC49.RI4 RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION The Regional Committee, EXPRESSES its appreciation and thanks to: (1) the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and the Rapporteurs elected by the Committee; (2) the representatives of the intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations for their oral and written statements. WPRlRC49(l ) Ninth Meeting, 18 September 1998 WPRlRC49/SRl9 DECISIONS REPORT OF THE REGIONAL DIRECTOR The Regional Committee, having reviewed and approved the report of the Regional Director entitled Part I: The Work of WHO in the Western Pacific Region: I July 1997-30 June 19981 and Part 2: Fifty Years of the World Health Organization in the Western Pacific Region/ decided that the subject for Part 2 in 1999 should be reproductive and family health. (First Meeting, 14 September 1998) WPRlRC49(2) BUDGET PERFORMANCE 1996-1997 The Regional Committee, having considered the final report of the Regional Director on budget performance for the biennium 1996-1997,3 noted with satisfaction the full implementation of the programme budget in financial terms. WPRlRC49(3) (Third Meeting, 15 September 1998) MEMBERSHIP OF THE SUB-COMMITTEE OF THE REGIONAL COMMITTEE ON PROGRAMMES AND TECHNICAL COOPERATION The Regional Committee, noting that the period oftenure of Cambodia, Fiji, Mongolia and Viet Nam as members of the Sub-Committee of the Regional Committee on Programmes and Technical Cooperation expires on 31 December 1998, selected Brunei Darussalam, New Zealand, Niue and Tonga to nominate representatives to serve on the Sub-Committee for a period of three years from I January 1999 to 31 December 2001.
