TIME, PLACE AND DURATION OF TWELFrH AND THIRl'EENTH SESSIONS UF THE REGIONAL COMMrTTEE
The Regional Committee at its tenth session decided to accept the invitation of the Government of New Zealand to hold its twel:f'th session in New Zealand. l It also accepted the invitation of the Government of Australia to hold ~ts fourteenth session in Port ~resby, Papua and New Guinea in 1963. As far as the thirteenth session of the Regional Committee is concerned, the past policy has been that every second year it should be held at regional headquarters. The Regional Director has, however, r ceived from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Korea the following letter:

I have the honour, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Korea, to extend an invitation to the World Health Organization Regj.onal ConmLttee for the western Pac1:fic to hold its thirteenth session to be held in 1962 in Seoul, Korea. /If the •••

WP/RCll/9 page 2 If the thirteenth session of the Regional Committee can not be held in Seoul, we wish to extend our invitation for the fifteenth meeting of the Regional Committee to be held in 1964. In either case, the Government agrees to meet the increased cost resulting fram holding the committee meeting a~ from the regional headquarters, in accordance with resolution WP/RC4.R;, adopted by the fourth Regional Committee in 195;, and with paragraph 2 of resolution WHA9.20, adopted by the Ninth WOrld Health Assembly in 1956. I should appreciate it if you would bring the above invitation to the attention of the Regional Committee at its el venth session to be held from August 12, 1960 in Manila. Accept, Sir, the assurances of my high consideration.
