SALMONELLA SURVEILLANCE B u l g a r ia . — During the first six months of 1976,14 salmonella outbreaks were reported, with a total of 1 551 cases (814 confirmed and 737 diagnosed on epidemiological grounds). Two large out­ breaks were investigated. The first one, associated with S. enteritidis, was caused by veal sausage and involved 812 cases, 327 of which were confirmed by laboratory. The second, associated with S . thompson, was due to pastry and involved 220 cases, 205 of which were confirmed.

SURVEILLANCE DES SALMONELLA B u l g a r ie . — Au cours du premier semestre de 1976,14 poussées de salmonellose totalisant 1 551 cas (814 confirmés et 737 diagnos­ tiqués sur des bases épidémiologiques) ont été signalées. Deux poussées importantes ont fait l’objet d ’une enquête. L a première, associée à S . enteritidis, a été causée par des saucisses de veau et a totalisé 812 cas dont 327 ont été confirmés au laboratoire. La seconde, associée à S. thompson, a été causée par de la pâtisserie et a totalisé 220 cas dont 205 confirmés.

O f particular interest is the nosocomial transmission o f S. Heidel­ berg; the four outbreaks associated with this serotype were all due to nosocomial transmission and involved 102 cases, all confirmed.

La transmission hospitalière de S . Heidelberg revêt un intérêt particulier. Les quatre poussées associées à ce sérotype se sont pro­ duites en milieu hospitalier et ont totalisé 102 cas, tous confirmés.
