WPR/RC36.Rl3 SUB-COMMITTEE OF THE REGIONAL COMMITTEE ON PROGRAMMES AND TECHNICAL COOPERATION The Regional Committee, Having considered that section of Part I of the report of the Sub-Committee on the General Programme of Work dealing with the review of the structure, terms of reference, and methods of work of the Sub-Committees on the General Programme of Work and on Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries;! Noting that the report is the outcome of the joint meeting of the Sub-Committees on the General Programme of Work and on Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries; 1. EXPRESSES its appreciation to the Sub-Committees on the General Programme of Work and on Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries for their work; 2. ENDORSES the conclusions and recommendations contained in the report, particularly with respect to: (1) the amalgamation sub-committee, to be Technical Cooperation; of called the the two Sub-Committees into Sub-Committee on Programmes one and (2) the proposed terms of reference, membership and method of work of the new Sub-Committee; 3. DECIDES to appoint the re.presentatives of Australia, Japan and the United States of America as members of the Sub-Committee on Programmes and Technical Cooperation for three years from the thirty-sixth session, in addition to the representatives of Fiji, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea and Singapore, who wi 11 serve as members for one year, and of China, Cook Islands and Samoa. who will serve as members for two years; 4. THANKS the outgoing representatives of Japan, the Philippines and Tonga on the former Sub-Committee on the General Programme of Work and the outgoing representatives of China and New Zealand on the former Sub-Committee on Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries for their contributions; 5. REQUESTS the Regio.nal Director to make a 11 necessary arrangements, including the provision of budgetary support, to enable the Sub-Committee to carry out its activities.
