FOODBORNE DISEASE OUTBREAKS U n it e d K in g d o m . — From mid-September to mid-November, 13 outbreaks attributed to Clostridium welchu food poisoning, were reported m the United Kingdom. At least 630 persons are known to have been ill m these episodes, in two of them over 140 persons were affected and m one over 180 persons. Six outbreaks took place in schools, three in hospitals, two were associated with a Mealson-Wheels service, one was in a hotel and one followed a private party The foods suspected to be responsible were as followsreheated minced beef in four episodes, chicken in two, reheated roast lamb, braised beef, spaghetti bolognaise, vol-au-vent, cold boiled beef, and pease pudding in one each
