Having carefully examined the Program and kdge t Estimates 1
proposed by the Regional Director for the year 1969;
Taking into account that the proposals for the United Nations Development Programme are presented as a forecast of possible govern- ment requests for the year 1969, except for certain continuing projects which have already been approved on a long-term basis,
1. FINDS that the program proposals ensure a reasonable belance between act ivi t ies i n the major subject headings and between country and inter-country projects;
2. NOTES with satisfaction the contiming emphasis placed on projects for control of cowunlcable diseases, including malaria and smallpox eradication, and ac t iv i t ies relating t o education and training of needed technical manpower;
3. ENDOFSES the proposed Progranmre and Budget Estimates for 1969 under the Regular kdge t of the World Health Organization;
4. URGES Member States to acaord equitable priority t o health projects within their next programme submission t o the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programne for 1969 and future years, and
5. EXTFNDs i ts thanks t o UNICEF and other UN bodies for their continuing collaboration w i t h the health programaes i n the Region.
