Africa Malaria Day Africa Malaria Day is commemorated annually on 25 April. This day has been chosen by African governments committed to reversing the progression of malaria and meeting the malaria-related UN Millennium Development Goals. With the slogan “Leadership and Partnership for Results”, this year’s Africa Malaria Day focused on the need to work in partnership to roll back malaria and make a significant impact in endemic countries. 150
Journée africaine du paludisme Les gouvernements africains attachés à faire régresser le paludisme et à atteindre les objectifs du Millénaire pour le développement des Nations Unies relatifs à cette maladie célèbrent la Journée africaine du paludisme le 25 avril de chaque année. Cette année, la Journée africaine du paludisme, qui a eu pour slogan «Leadership et partenariat pour des résultats», a mis l’accent sur l’importance des partenariats pour faire reculer le paludisme et obtenir des résultats significatifs dans les pays d’endémie. In Africa, many countries organized events and activities in the run up to 25 April 2007 and on the day itself. In Europe, coalitions and alliances against malaria advocated in parliaments. In the United States, 25 April was marked as the country’s first Malaria Awareness Day. The Roll Back Malaria Partnership works in solidarity with African countries by supporting several events and activities around the world.
