Health administrations are reminded that under the provisions of Article 3 of the International Health Regulations they should notify the Organization by telegramortelexwithin 24 hoursof beinginformedthatthefirstcaseof adisease subjectto the Regulationshasoccurredin theirterritory. Theinfected area should be notified within the subsequent 24 hours if not already communicated. In addition, they should notify the Organization by telegiam or telex within 24 hours of being informed of an imported or transferred caseof sucha disease into a non-infected area including all information available on the origin of in fection.
