INFLUENZA SURVEILLANCE J apan (28 October 1984). - Influenza B virus was isolated from 7 children in the age group 5-14 years visiting a local clinic in Aomon Prefecture, northern Japan, in mid-October. A week later an outbreak occurred in a school in the same prefecture, affecting 105 of 380 children. Two strains of influenza B were isolated during this outbreak. United Kingdom (2 November 1984). — Influenza A(H1N1) virus has been isolated from a child in the Northern Region, England.
SURVEILLANCE DE LA GRIPPE (28 octobre 1984). — Le virus grippal B a été isolé chez 7 enfants dans le groupe d’âge 5-14 ans vus dans un dispensaire local dans la préfecture d’Aomon, au Japon septentrional, à la mi-octobre. Une semaine plus tard, une flambée s’est produite dans une école de la même préfecture, touchant 105 sur 380 enfants. Deux souches de virus gnppal B ont été isolées durant cette flambée.
