Firearms (Amendment) Act 1992
In section 26 of the Firearms Act 1968—
in subsection (3) the words “, or such shorter period as may be prescribed,” and the words “, or a further prescribed period,” shall be omitted; and
after that subsection there shall be inserted—
In section 11(1) of the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988 for the words “or prescribed under section 26(3)” there shall be substituted the words “subsection (3), or in an order made under subsection (3A), of section 26”.
Section 1 above does not extend to Northern Ireland.
An Order in Council under paragraph 1(1)(b) of Schedule 1 to the Northern Ireland Act 1974 (legislation for Northern Ireland in the interim period) which states that it is made only for purposes corresponding to those of section 1 above—
shall not be subject to paragraph 1(4) and (5) of that Schedule (affirmative resolution of both Houses of Parliament); but
shall be subject to annulment in pursuance of a resolution of either House.
This Act may be cited as the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1992.
This Act and the Firearms Acts 1968 to 1988 may be cited together as the Firearms Acts 1968 to 1992.
