Licensing (Sunday Hours) Act 1995 (repealed)

Section 60 of the Licensing Act 1964 (permitted hours in licensed premises) shall be amended as follows.

For subsection (1)(b) (Sundays, Christmas Day and Good Friday) there shall be substituted—.

In subsection (6) (off-licences), the words “or Good Friday” shall be omitted and at the end of that subsection there shall be added the words “and the permitted hours on Sundays, other than Christmas Day, shall begin at ten in the morning”.

In section 62(1) of the Licensing Act 1964 (permitted hours in registered clubs)—

In section 62(3) of that Act (notice of permitted hours) for the words “on Sundays, Christmas Day and Good Friday” there shall be substituted the words “on Christmas Day”.

The amendments of the Licensing Act 1964 set out in Schedule 1 to this Act (which are consequential on sections 1 to 3) shall have effect.

The enactments listed in Schedule 2 to this Act are hereby repealed to the extent specified in the third column of that Schedule.

This Act may be cited as the Licensing (Sunday Hours) Act 1995.

This Act does not extend to Scotland or Northern Ireland.
