Northern Ireland (Regional Rates and Energy) Act 2018
<section xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-1"><num>1</num><heading>Regional rates</heading><subsection eId="section-1-1"><num>(1)</num><content><p>This section applies in respect of the year ending 31 March 2019.</p></content></subsection><subsection eId="section-1-2"><num>(2)</num><content><p>The regional rate to be levied on the rateable net annual values of hereditaments is to be 33.41 pence in the pound.</p></content></subsection><subsection eId="section-1-3"><num>(3)</num><content><p>The regional rate to be levied on the rateable capital values of hereditaments is to be 0.4365 pence in the pound.</p></content></subsection><subsection eId="section-1-4"><num>(4)</num><content><p>A rate specified in subsection (2) or (3) may be varied by an order made by the Department under Article 7(1) of the Rates Order.</p></content></subsection><subsection eId="section-1-5"><num>(5)</num><intro><p>An order made by virtue of subsection (4)—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="section-1-5-a"><num>(a)</num><content><p>may be made only after the first occasion on which all the Ministerial offices are filled after the passing of this Act, but</p></content></level><level class="para1" eId="section-1-5-b"><num>(b)</num><content><p>may set the rate in respect of the whole of the year for which it is made.</p></content></level></subsection><subsection eId="section-1-6"><num>(6)</num><intro><p>In this section—</p></intro><hcontainer name="definition"><intro><p>“<term refersTo="#term-the-ministerial-offices" eId="term-the-ministerial-offices">the Ministerial offices</term>” means—</p></intro><level class="para1"><num>(a)</num><content><p>the offices of First Minister and deputy First Minister, and</p></content></level><level class="para1"><num>(b)</num><content><p>the Ministerial offices to be held by Northern Ireland Ministers (within the meaning of the Northern Ireland Act 1998);</p></content></level></hcontainer><hcontainer name="definition"><content><p>“<term refersTo="#term-the-rates-order" eId="term-the-rates-order">the Rates Order</term>” means the Rates (Northern Ireland) Order 1977 (<abbr class="acronym" title="Statutory Instrument">S.I.</abbr> 1977/2157 (N.I. 28));</p></content></hcontainer><wrapUp><p>and any expression used in this section and in the Rates Order has the meaning given by that Order.</p></wrapUp></subsection></section>

(<abbr class="acronym" title="Northern Ireland">NI</abbr>) 2012 <abbr title="Number">No.</abbr> 396) (payment of periodic support payments to participants) is amended in accordance with subsections (2) to (10).</p></content></subsection><subsection eId="section-2-2"><num>(2)</num><content><p><mod>In paragraph (3) for the words from the beginning to “accredited RHI installation” substitute <quotedText>“

<section xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-3"><num>3</num><heading>Extent, commencement and short title</heading><subsection eId="section-3-1"><num>(1)</num><content><p>This Act extends to Northern Ireland only.</p></content></subsection><subsection eId="section-3-2"><num>(2)</num><content><p>Section 1 and this section come into force on the day on which this Act is passed.</p></content></subsection><subsection eId="section-3-3"><num>(3)</num><content><p>Section 2 and the Schedule come into force on 1 April 2018.</p></content></subsection><subsection eId="section-3-4"><num>(4)</num><content><p>This Act may be cited as the Northern Ireland (Regional Rates and Energy) Act 2018.</p></content></subsection></section>
