<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-1-1"><num>(1)</num><content><p>A mother or expectant mother designated as a Minister on Leave under this section is to be paid an allowance in accordance with section 2.</p></content></subsection>
<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-1-2"><num>(2)</num><intro><p>The Prime Minister may designate a mother or expectant mother as a Minister on Leave if—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="section-1-2-a"><num>(a)</num><content><p>the mother or expectan

<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-1-3"><num>(3)</num><intro><p>The conditions in this subsection are that—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="section-1-3-a"><num>(a)</num><content><p>the expectant mother is within 12 weeks before the expected week of

<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-1-5"><num>(5)</num><intro><p>In this Act “<term refersTo="#term-ministerial-office" eId="term-ministerial-office">ministerial office</term>” means—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="section-1-5-a"><num>(a)</num><co

<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-1-6"><num>(6)</num><intro><p>A designation under this section ends—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="section-1-6-a"><num>(a)</num><content><p>at the end of the period of 6 months beginning with the day on which the

<level xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" class="para1" eId="section-2-1-a"><num>(a)</num><content><p>is an amount equivalent to 6 times the monthly amount of the salary which was being paid to the mother or expectant mother in respect of the first ministerial office, and</p></
<level xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" class="para1" eId="section-2-1-b"><num>(b)</num><content><p>is to be paid in 6 monthly instalments.</p></content></level>
<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-2-2"><num>(2)</num><content><p>If no salary was being paid in respect of that office, no allowance is payable.</p></content></subsection>
<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-2-3"><num>(3)</num><content><p>Where the mother or expectant mother ceases to hold the designated ministerial office at a time before the allowance has been paid in full, the amount of the allowance outstanding is to b
<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-2-4"><num>(4)</num><intro><p>But if the mother or expectant mother ceases to hold the designated ministerial office because they are appointed to another ministerial office or die—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="
<level xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" class="para1" eId="section-2-4-a"><num>(a)</num><content><p>the allowance payable is reduced by a pro rata amount for each day of the 6-month period remaining, and</p></content></level>
<level xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" class="para1" eId="section-2-4-b"><num>(b)</num><content><p>any overpayment of the allowance may be recouped.</p></content></level>

<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-4-2"><num>(2)</num><intro><p>An “<term refersTo="#term-opposition-office" eId="term-opposition-office">opposition office</term>” means—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="section-4-2-a"><num>(a)</num><content><p>in
