Peter Reitter, as the \!orld Bank Group's Resident Representative in Ghana. Hr. Reitter will take up his post on November 16, 1971. The appointment of a Resident Representative in Accra is intended to help to develop a closer working relationship between the Government of Ghana and the t!orld Bank Group aud to enable the Group to play a more useful • role in assisting Ghana's economic development • Hr. Reitter, a German national, has been with the World Bank Group since 1961. As a Division Chief and Loan Officer, he has been closely associated over the last two years with development problems in West African countries, including Ghana. Previously, he was associated with a number of Latin American countries, and held a resident assignment for the Dank Group in Chile from 1962-1964. Mr. Reitter was trained in economics and business administration at the universities of Heidelberg and Paris and the London School of Economics. He obtained his Ph.D degree at the University of l1unich where he held an assistant professorship in economics prior to joining the World Bank Group. • oOo
