Badurashvili The General Director of the State Power Enterprise "Sakenergogenerationr" of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy In accordance with your letter #24-07/71 dated 22.08.96 the State Department of Environment has carried out preliminary examination of the influence on the environment of the Unit 10 at the Gardabani Thermal Power Plant. According to the terms of reference the amount of emission of poisoning substances (sulfuric anhydride,nitrogen dioxide,vanadium tetroxide) if the Unit operates, has been calculated and estimated, reference to the percentage of the sulphur in the liquid fuel with the variation from 1 to 4. It was clarified that in the case 'of the Unit operating using 41 mazout, (40k air, 601 mazout) total ntitrogen and sulphur concentration would be 0,3 possible limit rate. Using of the 1,2 and 3* mazout at the Unit 1O will cause any serious pollution of the atmosphere. Proceed froom the above mentioned the State Department on Environmental issues find it possible to implement the rehabilitation project of Unit t10. Attachment: see page 76. Calculations were made for 4 occasions {sulfur composition in mazut 1,2,3, and 4%}.The maximum surface concentration of hazardous substarces in maximum allowed concentration (MAC) is enclosed in diagram. It was taken into consideration. tbat unit 10 will use the mixmre of natral gas and {az6t.{60% gas, 40% mazrt.) Units 3 and 4. boiler type TGM-94, steam capacity 500t/h are attached to one chimney stk, with heigh 120m, diameter Sm. Total capacity of ejection for chimney 3 {for units 9 and 10},is: 1% SO2 -194,5 g/sec N02- 472,2g/sec V205 - 0,6 g/sec 2% S02 - 416,7 g/sec N02- 472,2glsec V205 - 1,4 g/sec 3% SO2 - 611,2 g/sec NO2- 472,2g/sec V205 - 2,44g/sec 4% S02 - 805,6 g/sec NO2- 470 g/sec V205 - 3,4 g/sec The 1992 data is used on the report. Excess air ratio is a - I 1. Cavitation atomizers are installed on the boilers of 3,4,and 8 units, and p2arecbaril- on the units 9 and 10, that's why B2-0,85. The ratio for units 3,4,and 8 is K=8,5 but for unis 9 and 10 K - 10. Waste gas temperaere for chimney stacks 1 and 2 is 162
