Page 1 Minister Wang Bingqian Minister of Finance Ministry of Finance Sanlihe Beijing People 's Republic of China Dear Minister Wang: Re: Loan No. 2943-0-CHA (Pharmaceuticals Project) Extension of Financing of Interest and Other Charges We refer to the Loan Agreement between the People's Republic of China (the Borrower) and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank), dated December 22, 1988, as amended, for a Pharmaceuticals Project (the Loan Agreement), and to the request from the World Bank Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Borrower for an extension to August 14, 1992 of the latest date for financing of interest and other charges on the Loan. We agree to your request. Consequently, the Bank hereby agrees to amend the date specified in Category (3) of the table set forth in paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 to the Loan Agreement to read "August 14, 1992". Please confirm the agreement on behalf of the Borrower to the foregoing amendment by signing and dating the enclosed confirmation copy of this letter and returning it to us for our files.
