Box M40 Accra, Ghana Credit No. 2349 GH (Literacy and Functional Skills Project) Amendment of Development Credit Agreement Dear Sir, We refer to the Development Credit Agreement (Literacy and Functional Skills Project), dated April 22, 1992, between the Republic of Ghana (the Borrower) and the International Development Association (the Association). Further to the discussions held with the representatives of the Borrower, we are pleased to inform you that the Association hereby agrees to the following amendment to the above-referenced Development Credit Agreement: The table in paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 is hereby amended and restated in its entirety to read as set out in the Annex to this Amendment. In paragraph 2 of Schedule I the word "and" is deleted after sub-paragraph (a), and"; and" replaces the full stop after sub-paragraph (b), after which a new subparagraph (c) is inserted: "(c) the term "Operational Costs" means the incremental operational costs arising under the Project on account of per diem and allowances of local staff, maintenance of vehicles and fuel, supplies and utilities incurred by NFED in the management and supervision of literacy classes under the Project." Please indicate the agreement of the Borrower with the foregoing by countersigning and dating the form of confirmation on the two original copies of this letter and returning one original, as countersigned, to us. This amendment shall become effective as of the date of receipt by the Association of this letter duly countersigned on behalf of the Borrower.
