• !l Joint Press Release Th""TERNATIONAL INTERNATIONAL BANK MONETARY TIJND FOR RECONSTRUCTION sl \ r_3 ~ AND DEVELOPMENT 1 1 \.J.V\J \0 1~ For Immediate Release SUBJECT: Membership of' Jamai.ca February 21, 1963 Jamaica today became a member of' the International Monetary FUnd and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (world Bank) when the Articles of Agreement of the two institutions were signed. in Washington on behalf of the Government of Jamaica by the Ambassador, His Excellency Neville Noel Ashenheim. Jamaica' s quota in the International Monetary Ftmd is $20, 000, 000 • and its subscription to the capital stock of' the Inte~:national Bank is 267 sha:r2s with a total par value of $26 2 700,000. Eighty-three countries are now members of the Fund and 82 countries are members of' the Bank. Ad.mission of' Jamaica brought the total of members' quotas in the Fund to $15,208,700,000, and. the total subscribed capital of the Bank to $20,689,800,000 • •
