C. 20433 TELEPHONE: EXECUTIVE 3-6360 For Release Subject: Mission to Morocco AM Newspapers Tuesday, December 17, 1963 At the request of the Moroccan Government, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development will send to Morocco, in February 1964, a mission which will make a general survey of the potentialities of the • Moroccan economy • This survey will consist of an analysis of the different sectors of the Moroccan economy and an exe..mination of the economic and financial poli- cies of' the country. The World Bank mission will make recommendations con- cerning Morocco's future development a.nd will propose outlines of an invest- ment program. It is intended that this program should be concerned not only with government investment but also with opportunities which might be of interest to domestic and international investors. The ten-man mission will be headed by Mr. J. W. Beyen, formerly Minister of Foreign .Affairs of the Netherlands; he has also been his count: -v's .Ambassador in Paris and an Executive Director of the World Bank..
