Conable, will visit Mexico January 23-25 at the invitation of President Carlos Salinas de Gortari and his government. During the three-day visit, Mr. Conable will meet President Salinas and several cabinet members. He will also visit development projects supported by the Bank in Mexico City and Oaxaca and will meet with representatives of Mexico's private sector. On Wednesday, January 24, Mr. Conable will give a speech on "Adjustment and Growth in Latin America" at the Colegio de Mexico, one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the country. During his speech, Mr. Conable will talk about economic-reform programs and the role of the World Bank in Mexico and the rest of Latin America. -0-
