• INTERNATIONAL MONETARY :FUND JOINT PRESS RELEASE INTERNATIONAL BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOR1ENT FOR JJvlMEDIATE RELEASE SUBJECT: Nepal Joins Fund and Bank September 6, 1961 The Kingdom of Nepal today became a member of the International Monetary Fund and of the International Bank for Reconstruction and. Development, when the Articles of Agreement of the two institutions were signed in Washington on behalf of His Majesty's Government of Nepal by the Ambassador, His Excel- lency Matrika Prasad Koirala. • The quota of Nepal in the International Monetary Fund is $7,500,000 • Seventy-three nations are now members of the Fund and the total of members' quotas is $15,011,900,000~ Nepal's subscription to the capital stock of the Bank is 100 shares with a total par value of $10,000,000. The Bank now has 71 members and a total subscribed capital of $20,279,800,000. (Fund Pres~ Release No. 369) •
