For "Exports", the export price (Table 3.6) is used. * In 1977 the G0i- implicit price irndex, and not that of private consumption, is calculated as a residual. The private consumption price index was estimated using the change in the "ge,-eral consumrtion" compornent of the aholesalc price indcx. A reEression between the two for the period 196,-1976 yielded the following relationship: a = 1.181 , 0.87$b, 2 lhere a is the percent increase in the private consumption component (11.2) 2 = O.?64 oi the wholesale price inidex. The value oi b in 1977 was 41.8,6g, thus implying a value of 37.7 for the percent increase in the private consumption price index.
