CHOLERA U nited K ingdom — V cholerae biotype eltor, serotype Ogawa has been isolated from a 31 year-old woman in Stafford The patient, together with her family had spent a camping holiday in Spam from 20 August until 8 September travelling overland by way of France Nobody m the family experienced any illness during the holiday period After a dinner party on 16 September the patient developed nausea and vomiting, and following con­ tinued gastro-mtestinal symptoms a stool specimen was examined on 25 September Shigella sonnet in addition to the cholera vibrio was detected On 5 October the patient had recovered clinically and both she and all family contacts had been shown to be free of cholera vibrio W est B erlin . — A man aged 6S years returned to Berlm on 28 September from a holiday m Spam where he had had symptoms of diarrhoea. Bacteriological examination confirmed the suspicion of cholera.

La malade avait été faire du camping en Espagne avec sa famille du 20 août au 8 sep­ tembre et était revenue par la route via la France Aucun membre de la famille n ’a été malade pendant la penode des vacances Le 16 septembre, après un diner, la malade a eu des nausées e t des vomissements, comme les symptômes gastro-intestinaux conti­ nuaient, un spécimen de selles a été examine le 25 septembre. On a trouve Shigella sonnet en plus du vibnor cholérique. Le 5 octobre, la malade était cliniquement rétablie et il a ete constate q u’dlemême et tous les membres de sa famille étaient exempts de vibrions.

B erlin-O uest — Un homme de 68 ans est rentre à Berlin k 28 septembre apres avoir passe des vacances en Espagne où il avait eu des symptômes de diarrhée. L’examen bactériologique a confirmé la presence du choiera.
