ACCIDENTAL POISONING BY PESTICIDES In 1973, the Director-General o f WHO requested all countries in a position to do so to notify the Organization o f the number of accid ental poisonings in 1974 due to pesticides. U p to 14 October 1975, returns have been received from six countries and are shown in Table 1. When more returns have been received, the figures will be further analyzed by cause and age groupings.
