ItTlBOIXreT[Oil The Sixth Large ScaLe Ivermectin Distribution Mission on the frangbaia and Taia II River Baein was carried out from November L-ZA,- 1994 by the National EPI Tearn under the general supervision of the Natioaal Co-ordiuator - Dr. Brima Kargbo and the Medical Officer - Dr. f. F. Jal}oh. the National Co-ordinator was preparing the Vector Control Unit TechnicaL lleeting in Bamako and delegated the Mission Supervision to Dr. I. F. Jalloh, D1.. tr'. E. I'lylander and l'[r. Kingsley Ensah. By the time of the briefing on the 7th November 1994' the Kabala Base of the Oacho Control Progranme, had a rebel attack. The mission however progiressed normallyq Dging the mission, emphasis are made on HeaLth tdorkersr involvement in Community Participation and Oncho- Devolution. Public Awareness Raieing of oncho Devolution actirities mission were made to the Moyanba Distrlct Primary Health Care Team two months before the aensitization niasionc. Iattere of information were also gent to the Chiefe and Elders of tho Chiefctoms where the Large Scale Ivermectin Canpairyrs niII be conducted. The District Adrainistration and the Security Department was also informed about the pending lvernoctin Die' tribution Canpaign. The El Team radio transmitter was also tnstalled at the Moyanba Hospital which was used at the Baee for the niseion. A. Bryana - Staff Superintendent of the District Office. I'tre Diotrlct Medical- Officer - Dr. tr'. E. Nylander introduced the members present. These included the members of the ,istrict Health Tean, - ;1.. Sesqy, the District Health $ister - Sister Bona, the S6sial Mobilization Officer - Mr. Taracid Tarawallier the District Operations Officer - Mr. Alie Bangura and the District Dispenser I1r. l(osseh. 'Ihe i'{ission Supervisor - Dr. I. f'. Jalloh introduced the members of the National Oncho Tean. The Community was represented by the Ilistrict Staff Superintendent - Mr. C. A. Bryamah and Corununity Leaders. ttre CARE Programme uas represented by Mr. Pabineh Sankoh. A total of 42 persons yere sensitised during the debriefing meeting about ths Gbangbaia Mectizan Treatment Mission. During the debriefing meeting, the Team leaders presented reports on their activities in their aesigned zones. In some of the remote rural areas, there are few Primary Health care facilities available.
