been reported throughout the year 1971 from most of the virology units sending their findings to the C.D.S. unit (Communicable Diseases Scotland). Because of its mild clinical nature, rubella is an infection which is usually very poorly represented in any general statistical report, and the emphasis on reporting the diagnosis in women patients of child-bearing age reminds us that this is the main area of concern for the clinicians who send specimens to the labora tory. Perhaps it would be realistic to divide the positive rubella reports into those patients who were pregnant at the time of infec tion and those who were not. It would also be relevant to include the actual number of sera tested in these two categories if any mean ing is to be drawn from statistical findings.

On pourrait également envisager nombre d ’autres aspects du However, many other aspects of the diagnosis of this infection could also be considered. For instance, the degree of certainty diagnostic de cette infection.
