Health administrations are reminded that under lhe provisions of Article 3 of the International Health Regulations they should notify the Organization by telegram, fax or telex within 24 hours of being informed that the first case of a diseasesubjectto the Regulations hasoccurredintheirterritory. Theinfectedarea should be notified within the subsequent 24 hoursif not alreadycommunicated. In addition, they should notify the Organization by telegram, fax or telex w'é in 24 hours of being informed of on importedor transferred coseof such a disease into a non-infected area including all information available orvtbe origin of infection.
