‫استناداً إىل توصية جلنة مؤسسة الدكتور علي توفيق شوشة أثناء انعقاد الدورة احلادية والستني للَّجنة اإلقليمية‬ ‫لشرق املتوسط‪ ،‬قرر اجمللس التنفيذي مبوجب القرار م‪.‬ت ‪ )7( 131‬منح جائزة مؤسسة الدكتور على توفيق‬ ‫شوشة لعام ‪ 5112‬إىل الدكتور يعقوب بن يوسف املزروع (اململكة العربية السعودية) تقديراً إلسهامه الكبري يف‬ ‫ة الصحة العاملية‪.‬‬ ‫جمال الصحة العمومية يف املنطقة اجلغرافية اليت خدم فيها الدكتور شوشة منظم َ‬ ‫ويأيت تكرمي الدكتور يعقوب بن يوسف املزروع تقديراً ملا َّ‬ ‫قدمه من إسهامات جليلة يف جمال الصحة العمومية‬ ‫باململكة العربية السعودية‪ .‬فمنذ بدء حياته املهنية كممارس عام وطبيب أطفال‪ ،‬عمل الدكتور املزروع بوزارة‬ ‫الصحة يف اململكة العربية السعودية كمدير عام ومشلت مسؤولياته املراكز الصحية مث املستشفيات يف وقت‬ ‫الحق‪ .‬وخالل هذه الفرتة (‪ ،)1883-1893‬اضطلع بدور فعال يف تطوير الرعاية الصحية األولية يف اململكة‬ ‫العربية السعودية‪ ،‬واإلشراف على توسيع نطاق شبكة املراكز الصحية على حنو كبري‪ ،‬وحتسني سبل تغطية‬ ‫‬ َّ‬ ‫وقدم الدكتور املزروع طوال حياته املهنية‬ ‫األطفال بالتمنيع‪ ،‬وإدخال حتسينات على األمن الصحي للحجاج‪.‬‬ ‫مسامهات هامة يف جمال علم أوبئة األمراض الـمعدية‪ ،‬وال يزال يعمل هبمة ونشاط يف ميدان تطوير الرعاية‬ ‫الصحية‪.‬‬ ‫ج الدكتور املزروع من كلية طب املوصل عام ‪ ،1871‬وحصل على دبلوم يف صحة الطفل من الكلية‬ ‫ختر‬ ‫وقد َّ‬ ‫امللكية لألطباء واجلراحني‪ ،‬يف أيرلندا عام ‪ .1877‬وحصل على درجة الدكتوراه من جامعة سييت يف لندن عام‬ ‫‪ ،1885‬وشغل منصب مساعد نائب وزير الصحة يف الفرتة من ‪ 1883‬حىت ‪ .5118‬والدكتور املزروع زميل يف‬ ‫الكلية امللكية للممارسني العموميني‪ ،‬وقد حصل على العديد من اجلوائز الوطنية والدولية‪ ،‬ونشر ما يربو على‬ ‫‪ 111‬مقالة يف اجملالت العلمية وغريها من املطبوعات‪ .‬وشارك يف جلان اخلرباء واللجان االستشارية على‬ ‫الصعيدين اإلقليمي والعاملي‪.‬‬ ‫وتتألف جائزة مؤسسة الدكتور علي توفيق شوشة لعام ‪ 5112‬من ميدالية ومبلغ يعادل ‪ 5211‬فرنك سويسري‬ ‫يدفَع بالدوالر األمريكي‪ .‬وسيقوم رئيس الدورة الثانية والستني للَّجنة اإلقليمية لشرق املتوسط بتقدمي اجلائزة إىل‬ ‫الدكتور املزروع‪.‬‬ ‫ومن املقرر أن جتتمع جلنة مؤسسة الدكتور علي توفيق شوشة أيضاً أثناء انعقاد الدورة الثانية والستني للَّجنة‬ ‫اإلقليمية للنظر يف التـرشيحات لنيل اجلائزة والبعثة الدراسية اخلاصة هبا لعام ‪ .5111‬وتتألف اللجنة‪ ،‬حبسب‬ ‫نظامها األساسي‪ ،‬من األعضاء التالني‪ :‬رئيس اللجنة اإلقليمية لشرق املتوسط‪ ،‬ونائبَيه‪ ،‬ورئيس املناقشات‬ ‫التقنية‪.‬‬ ‫واملدير العام ملنظمة الصحة العاملية هو مدير املؤسسة‪ ،‬واملدير اإلقليمي هو أمني جلنة املؤسسة‪.‬‬

Attribution du Prix et de la Bourse d’études de la Fondation Dr A.T. Shousha 1. Suite aux recommandations du Comité de la Fondation Dr A.T. Shousha lors de la soixantième session du Comité régional de la Méditerranée orientale, le Conseil exécutif a attribué le Prix de la Fondation du Dr A.T. Shousha pour 2015, par décision EB136(7), au Dr Yagoub Yousef Al Mazrou (Arabie saoudite) pour son importante contribution à l’action de santé publique dans la région géographique dans laquelle le Dr Shousha a travaillé pour l’Organisation mondiale de la Santé. 2. Le Dr Yagoub Yousef Al Mazrou est honoré pour son importante contribution à la santé publique en Arabie saoudite. Après avoir exercé en début de carrière en tant que médecin généraliste et pédiatre, le Dr Al Mazrou a occupé le poste de Directeur général chargé des centres de santé, puis des hôpitaux, au sein du ministère de la Santé d'Arabie saoudite. Pendant cette période (de 1983 à 1993), il a joué un rôle important dans le développement des soins de santé primaires en Arabie saoudite ; il a en effet supervisé la forte expansion du réseau de centres de santé ainsi que l'amélioration de la couverture vaccinale des enfants et de la sécurité sanitaire des pèlerins. Tout au long de sa carrière, il a contribué de manière considérable à l'épidémiologie des maladies infectieuses et poursuit ses activités dans le domaine du développement des soins de santé. 3. Le Dr Al Mazrou est diplômé de la Faculté de médecine de l’Université de Mossoul (1971). Il est également titulaire d'un diplôme en santé de l'enfant obtenu en 1977 au Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons d’Irlande. En 1992, il a obtenu son doctorat à la City University de Londres. De 1993 à 2009, il a occupé le poste de sous-ministre adjoint de la Santé chargé successivement de différents départements. Chargé de recherche au Royal College of General Practitioners, le Docteur Al Mazrou a reçu de nombreux prix nationaux et internationaux et a publié plus d'une centaine d'articles dans des revues scientifiques et d’autres publications. Par ailleurs, il a été membre de comités d'experts et de comités consultatifs aux niveaux régional et international. 4. Le Prix de la Fondation Dr A.T. Shousha pour 2015, qui consiste en une médaille et l’équivalent de deux mille cinq cents francs suisses en dollars des États-Unis d’Amérique, sera remis au Dr Al Mazrou par le Président de la soixante-deuxième session du Comité régional. 5. Il est également prévu que le Comité de la Fondation Dr A.T. Shousha se réunisse durant la soixante-deuxième session du Comité régional afin d’examiner les candidatures pour le prix et la bourse d’études pour 2016. Conformément aux statuts, le Comité comprendra les membres suivants : le Président et les deux Vice-présidents du Comité régional de la Méditerranée orientale et le Président des discussions techniques. 6. Le Directeur général de l’Organisation mondiale de la Santé est Administrateur de la Fondation, et le Directeur régional est Secrétaire du Comité de la Fondation.

Award of the Dr A.T. Shousha Foundation Prize and Fellowship 1. Following the recommendations of the Dr A.T. Shousha Foundation Committee at the Sixtyfirst Session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, the Executive Board awarded the Dr A.T. Shousha Foundation Prize for 2015, by decision EB136(7), to Dr Yagoub Yousef Al Mazrou (Saudi Arabia) for his significant contribution to public health in the geographical area in which Dr Shousha served WHO. 2. Dr Yagob Yousef Al Mazrou is being honoured for his significant contribution to public health in Saudi Arabia. Following his early career as a general practitioner and paediatrician, Dr Al Mazrou served with the Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia, as Director-General with responsibility for health centres and subsequently for hospitals. During this time (1983-1993) he was instrumental in developing primary health care in Saudi Arabia, overseeing a major expansion in the network of health centres, and improvements in child immunization coverage as well as in the health security of pilgrims. Throughout his career, Dr Al Mazrou has made major contributions to the epidemiology of infectious diseases and continues to be active in health care development. 3. Dr Al Mazrou graduated from Mosul Medical College in 1971 and obtained a Diploma in Child Health from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Ireland, in 1977. He received a PhD from City University London in 1992, and from 1993 to 2009 served as Assistant Deputy Minister of Health. A Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners, Dr Al Mazrou has received several national and international awards and published more than 100 articles in scientific journals and other publications. He has served on WHO Expert Committees and advisory panels at regional and global levels. 4. The 2015 Dr A.T. Shousha Foundation Prize, consisting of a medal and equivalent of CHF 2500 in United States dollars, will be presented to Dr Al Mazrou by the Chairman of the Sixty-second Session of the Regional Committee. 5. The Dr A.T. Shousha Foundation Committee is also scheduled to meet during the Sixty-second Session of the Regional Committee to consider nominations for the prize and fellowship for 2016. In accordance with the Statutes, the Committee shall be composed of the following members: the Chairman and two Vice-Chairmen of the Regional Committee and the Chairman of its Technical Discussions. 6. The Director-General of the World Health Organization acts as Administrator of the Foundation and the Regional Director acts as Secretary of the Foundation Committee.
