Test of Influenza Vaccine, United Kingdom A study has been carried out by the Medical Research Council, United Kingdom, on the antibody response to the A/New Jersey/76 antigen in individuals of various ages to a trivalent inactivated whole particle influenza vaccine (antigenic content, A/Victoria/75 400IU ; A/New Jersey/76 400 IU ; B/Hong Kong/73 * 360 IU per dose). Table 1 gives the response in terms o f haemagglutination-inhibition (HI) antibodies. The high response for the age group 19-44 years is noted. However these data are from rather a small number of subjects, and it is hoped that further information will be available shortly. * Antigemcally similar to B/Hong Kong/5/72 (see No. 5, pp. 4042).
Etude d’un vaccin antigrippal, Royaume-Uni Le Medical Research Council du Royaume-Uni a fait une étude sur la réponse en anticorps à l’anrigène A/New Jersey/76 chez des individus de différents âges ayant reçu un vaccin trivalent inactivé préparé avec des particules virales complètes (teneur en antigènes: A/Victoria/75 400 U I; A/New Jersey/76 400 U I; B/Hong Kong/73 * 360 U I par dose). Le Tableau 1 indique les réponses en anticorps inhibant l'hémagglutination (IH). On notera la réponse élevée du groupe d ’âge 19-44 ans. Ces données ne proviennent toutefois que d ’un petit nombre de sujets et l’on espère disposer prochainement de renseignements plus nombreux. * Antigéniquement analogue à B/Hong K.ong/5/72 (voir N” 5, pp. 4042).

Serological Tests for Swine Influenza-Like Infections in Man I srael . — Sera collected from hospitalized patients from January to May 1976 were examined by the haemagglutination-inhibition (HI) test against A/Mayo Clinic/103/74.1 The results are sum marized in the following Table:

One hundred and twenty-five serum specimens originating from the under 40 years age group possessed no antibody ( < 10) to the A/Mayo Clinic virus.
Cent vingt-cinq échantillons en provenance de sujets de moins de 40 ans ne présentaient pas d ’anticorps ( < 10) à l’égard du virus A/Mayo Clinic.
