EM/RC18A/R.6 'lhe Sub-Colllllittee, l Bearing in mind resolution WHA21.49 of the Twenty-First World
Health Assembly which reconmended all Regional Colllllittees to give particular attention, at the 1968 sessions, to long-term health planning;
Recalling that during the discussions at the forty-second session of the Executive Board it was suggested that Regional Committees should consider the desirability of including in future annual progranune and budget estimates a proposed progranme for the year thereafter;
Having consi�ered the report on this subJect submitted by the Regional Director,
l. BELIEVF.S that the inclusion in the annual progranune and budget estimates of the Director-General of a progranme proJection for a further year ahead would be advantageous - but should not be binding - to both Member Governments and the Organization in developing longer term plans of health progranmes;
2. APPROVE.s the report, and
3. RECOJ',IY'lENDS that the Director-General, in accordance with operative paragraph 4 of resolution WHA2l.49, include in his report to the forty third session of the Executive Board the reconnendation and the views expressed in this Sub-Conmittee.
