YELLOW FEVER SURVEILLANCE Colombia. — The sylvatic form of yellow fever has been reported in the foothills of Sierra Nevada in Santa Marta and the Cordillera Oriental, in the Magdalena Valley and in the Gulf of Urabâ, par ticularly in the mountains bordering Panama near the Serrania del Darien. Between the beginning of the year and the first week of August, there have been 12 human fatal cases.1 Any traveller intending to visit the above-mentioned jungle areas should have been vaccinated against yellow fever, at least ten days before arrival. Editorial N ote: Health Administrations are requested to bring to the attention of all those concerned with advising the travelling public that any person intending to visit or work in an area, where the virus may be present, should be immunized against yellow fever. •Sec p.270.
