ACCOMMODATION FOR TEE l'iEsrERN PACIFI C REGIONAL OFFICE The ninth session of the Regional Committee adopted a resolutionl requesting the Regional Director to make a final report to the present session on costs and contributions for the Regional Office building. page 2 contributions up to a maximum of US$250 000. 1 The Eleventh World Health Assembly concurred with the Director-General's proposal to construct an additional floor on the underst~ding that the eXisting authority for financing would not be exceeded. The total cost of the building is estimated to be us$672 000 but as there are still a few unliquidated balances, it is not possible at the moment to give the final figure. No difficulties are, however, envisaged in meeting all the expenses incurred within the total quoted above. In addition to the contributions by Member governments toward the construction cost of the building the following items have been donated by private individuals: (a) a plaque depicting the seal of the Organization, placed in the conference room, valued at US$500j (b) murals decorating the interior of the building, valued at US$5000; (c) an oil painting valued at US$50. The Conunittee "Till note that, as a result of the generous contributions received from Member governments, it has been possible to remain within the maximum amount authorized by the I'lorld Health Assembly and no request for additional funds will be necessary for the construction of the additional floor.
