Cerebrospinal meningitis in Africa 1 As mentioned last week, the following Table 1 gives the cumulative number of cases of meningitis reported in the WHO African Region from 1 January to 4 October 1996, and Figs. 1 and 2 illustrate the weekly distribution of cases during the epidemics that occurred this year in Burkina Faso and Mali.
