YELLOW FEVER SURVEILLANCE T r in id a d a n d T o b a g o . — Towards the end of 1978, the Ministry of Health reported an epizootic o f yellow fever in monkeys confined to the forest of the Chaguaramas Peninsula in the northwest of the island.1 There were subsequently a few human cases, the last of which occurred in September 1979.* The persons concerned all had association with the forested area and were unvaccinated despite the comprehensive control measures undertaken by the National Health Administration. Throughout the period concerned, there has never been any evidence of transmiss'on by Aedes aegypti in Trinidad. In Tobago, there has been no evidence o f virus activity at all. In view of the fact that, despite careful surveillance, there has been no indication of virus activity in monkeys in Trinidad since January 1980,* the country has been declared free from infection. ■See No. 8, 1979. pp. 58-59. 8See No. 40, 1979, p. 309. 8 See No 10, 1980, p. 78.

SURVEILLANCE DE LA FIÈVRE JAUNE T r in it é - et -T o b a g o . 1Voir N» 8,1979, pp. 58-59. 8Voir N" 40. 1979, p. 309. 8 Voir N° 10, 1980, p. 78.
