The literature, all of which is old, concerning abuse of these drugs mostly deals with their direct toxic effects and not with dependence potential, which is rated as low. MISCELLANEOUS AGENTS This is a heterogeneous group of agents of low efficacy as sedatives or hypnotics (S 139-S 158; Table XI). With the exception of hydroxyzine (S 146), production and sales have been quite low. No reports of abuse were found.
