WPR/RC34.R21 RECRUITMENT OF INTERNATIONAL STAFF The Regional Committee, Having considered · the status of recruitment of international staff reported by the Regional Director in the Work of WHO in the Western Pacific, 1981 to 1983, which relates to resolution WHA36.19 on recruitment of international staff in WHO; Bearing in mind attainment of the ultimate goal of health for all by the year 2000; 1. NOTES with satisfaction the efforts already undertaken by the Regional Director and the progress accomplished; 2. REGRETS that, despite those efforts, a number of field project posts remain vacant; 3. EXPRESSES CONCERN that such a vacancy rate may be detrimental to programme delivery at country level; 4.
