Appointment of the Regional Director for the Western Pacific
The Executive Board, Considering the provisions of Article 52 of the Constitution of WHO; Considering the nomination made by the Regional Committee for the Western Pacific at its Fifty-ninth session, 1. APPOINTS Dr Shin Young-soo as Regional Director for the Western Pacific as from 1 February 2009; 2. AUTHORIZES the Director-General to issue a contract to Dr Shin Young-soo for a period of five years from 1 February 2009, subject to the provisions of the Staff Regulations and Staff Rules; 3. AUTHORIZES the Director-General to amend the conditions of employment of Dr Shin Young-soo as follows: “you will not participate in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund but will instead receive as a monthly supplement the contribution that the Organization would have paid each month to the Pension Fund had you been a participant.”
